Putting a House in the Metaverse

In this video, Rob talks about how to Metaverse can be used for buying and selling real estate.

Virtual reality technology is making it possible for buyers to tour homes without leaving their couches. Reality Labs, previously Oculus, is one of the leaders in augmented reality and metaverse platforms. Last Christmas, the company sold ten million sets of VR goggles. Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that Facebook is officially changing its name to “Meta” to signal their commitment to creating the metaverse. With virtual reality technology becoming more popular and more advanced each year, real estate investors should keep a close watch on how VR will affect buying and selling.

What is the Metaverse and How Do I Access It?

Simply put, the metaverse is the 3D version of the internet. The power of this technology lies in VR goggles like Oculus, Google Cardboard, and Value Index VR. Right now, there are several platforms offering virtual and augmented realities, but there is not a single access portal yet. The technology still has a long way to go.

The Metaverse and Real Estate

Although the metaverse is still in its infancy, it’s not unreasonable to think that in the near future, people will be able to buy and sell properties without ever going to see them in person. We are still dealing with the pandemic, and some people still don’t feel comfortable engaging in face-to-face interaction. This technology allows people to explore the world without risking their health. Eventually, people may start investing in virtual land that only exists in the metaverse.
